Isaiah 55:6
6 Seek the Lord while He may be found;
Call upon Him while He is near
This site was created with one main purpose in mind, and that is to direct you to the Word of God - The Holy Bible - where you will come to know the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no other written work that is like it. It is full in righteousness of pure truth and sovereign authority. It is the precious Holy words of God recorded, written and preserved for us. It is our history. It is our future. It is our now and the how to for every situation of our life in this world; And the reason for the beginning and end of it. It's the most significant and magnificent text I have ever read and the greatest treasure I possess. It is a wonderous gift that we are unworthy of by our own standard in merit, but yet still given to us all because of the work done for us on the Cross. In my walk with God, I have come to fully know and fully trust that God's Book - The Holy Bible - is the inerrant Word of God; That it holds no error and is the supreme authority. It is God's revelation revealed and so graciously given to us in written form. In it we find God in His perfect nature, and in it also, we find ourselves in fallen sinful nature - so be expectant to come to know yourself too. At the beginning of the Bible is the account of the beginning of creation, and at the end of the Bible is the account of the end of creation to come; Be it beginning, end, or any place in between God is always there; But it's in between where you and I realize and discover through inspired revelation of the Hope that was to come in the Old Testament and then was made manifest in the New Testament - the gift of salvation in the Son of God, Jesus Christ; He is the only way to the truth that gives life because He is the way, the truth, and the life. At times, I have heard claims that the Bible is inaccurate because contradiction is present, but in every case is the fact that scripture has been read out of its surrounding context, pitted against other scripture and then narrated to orchestrate the claim. The truth is, always simply, that the reader lacks the understanding of the text, or the narrator is motivated with evil intent. My first real in-depth study of the Bible began because I was seeking truth. I chose to read the Bible from front to back, in its written order, this time for myself; And in doing so I was able to discover more depth and grow as a Christian because the truth is there in full context. There is no contradiction, but however, at times it is paradoxical only because it is a mystery yet to be understood. That is why real study is so important; study of the culture in those times and mannerisms, the ways of dress, the language, the ways of everyday living then, even the geography and surrounding peoples. So often people say the Bible doesn't fit in our present times but it wasn't meant to, it was not written to us but it was written for us. If you read the Bible, don't stop, but do ask yourself are you reading it in the best way. If given a book and told that within its pages lay the answer to riches untold, how would you read it? In the Bible actually is that answer. Even though each book is not necessarily in chronological order, the Bible itself is, from Old Testament to New Testament. In the Old Testament the people looked forward to the coming of The Christ and in the New Testament we look back to the coming of The Christ. All the books of the Bible are written by individual authors, but all were ultimately written by one sole Author - God's Holy Spirit through His divine inspiration [breathed out]. Each book is woven together, and each offers truth and wisdom from the other. Some are very important to study in their written order before moving to the next. I would suggest that starting in the beginning and reading to the end is the most fruitful experience yielding the most growth when committing to a full study of The Holy Bible. When you read God's word it should bring you joy, so pace yourself and it will stay that way. Too often our good intentions become our own obstacles. We focus on achieving the goal before calculating our own pace and cause our trajectory's misdirection, or worse, to stall completely. I urge anyone thirsting for truth to commit to a plan of study in the reading of God's Word, if that's a chapter a day, then so be it. Take that chapter, read it and ask God to grant you understanding and spiritual growth. My personal advice is to follow the chapter up with reading an expository commentary for that chapter. Then study on it more by researching questions you have; Utilize written works that will provide you specific focus on that chapter and its topic. It will take 2-3 years at a chapter per day, but well, so what, the goal is not to race to the end, it's to grow as you go, to connect and comprehend. Some chapters are longer and some are shorter, so just break up the longer ones into multiple days and the shorter ones you can even double them up if you want. Reading and studying the Bible one time will not gift you with all its knowledge, no more than reading it a million times will, however, reading and studying repetitively will grow you more each time, and that is the point, to grow in your fellowship with the Lord. When you have finished the entire Bible, start over. Each time you read it in its entirety you will make new discoveries and connections to its other books within. As you study, learn and grow, your relationship with God will grow and you will gain insight and understanding; And with that comes the responsibility to meet others where they are on their walk, and not expect them to meet you where you are. The Bible addresses this as "knowledge that puffeth up" in 1 Corinthians 8:1-3; Where Paul teaches us that pride in knowledge can cause us to sin and grow apart from the Lord rather than together with Him. How can God fill us if we are full of ourselves? How could we possibly minister to others if we are self-absorbed? Our process of sanctification (being made perfect) will never be completed in this world, but only in the next with God. We are not students of scripture to become judges that scoff and condemn, we are judges only as to discern between good and evil so we may live in the light of the truth as we walk on God's path. Invest some of your time in fellowship with God. I assure you it is the only time you will never have wasted. Our eternity will be lived either with Him or without Him and either you will know Him in this life or you will meet Him on the day your life ends here; I pray He knows you and you know Him before that day; Can you imagine standing there with your life lived to advocate for your eternity? What a preponderance of evidence we carry with us; But Christ offers Himself to be your advocate; By placing our trust and belief in Him, He becomes our advocate, and then we can receive the precious free gift of God's grace and mercy - forgiveness. Our sin is washed away because Christ paid the penalty of all sin, and He did that once, and for all. We become freed when we come to know Him, free from the wages that our sin earns us. Christ is our advocate, but He is a Shepherd that loves and leads too. We don't become free from all our problems and suffering in our lives on Earth when we come to Christ; We are still sinners, and we still live among sinners in a world that forsakes God and has fallen away over and over; But we now have assured hope, not only for the day of judgement, but for each day we live in this world. As our Shepherd we are assured that He guards us with His own life. Christ will never lead us into destruction, or harm, or chaos; But He will always lead us out of what we get ourselves into when we go astray. So often we want God to remove us from the circumstances we have gotten ourselves into without feeling the consequence of our actions, but we would never learn and grow if He did. As our Shepherd, He will, however, make the way for us to get out; And He will walk us out Himself if we allow Him to lead the way. The problem we usually have is we don't want to follow because our sight only permits us to see what is in our immediate vicinity, but Christ can see everything. He knows what we don't and sees what we can't. We see His way either too long or difficult, and go our own way more times than not, which makes our path out more difficult and consequential with each step we take. God is not a genie in a lamp for us to rub and be granted our wishes. When we don't get what we want, we have a tendency to want to blame God and see Him as failing us, but God will never fail you; He will never leave you; He will love you always, faithfully; And sometimes that love comes as a Father loving His child by allowing the results of our choices to play out. If you have children then you full well understand the hurt we as parents feel when we see our children suffer, and you wholeheartedly know the meaning of the phrase "this hurts me more than it hurts you". If we as humans hurt for our children, how much more do you think God hurts when we must bare our burdens of consequence? Something I tell my children is "I will not pay your way out of the circumstances caused by your decisions, but I will stand beside you to help you past them". What a selfish love it would be if God loved us by never allowing us to grow in character and develop into a mature relationship with Him. There is a peace for me in knowing that God loves me in this way too.
I trust in Christ as my Shepherd, I know He is my Saviour, I believe He redeemed me, He is my Advocate, I accept Him as my Lord, and He is my King!
Do you?
Dearest friend,
if you don't know where you stand with Jesus Christ, if you are unsure in your beliefs, if you feel lost, if you thirst for truth, if you are hurting and suffering then I urge you to call on the name of Jesus. It's not hard at all.
Simply bow your head, close your eyes, and ask Him to sup with you; He will come into your heart and change your life forever. Ask Him to be your Lord and Saviour and wash your sins away; He will make you a new creature and you will get a new set of eyes to see with. Ask Him to Shepherd you and lead you onto His path; And He will draw you to Him. Ask Him to be your King; And He will bring you into His kingdom. Ask Him to dwell in you; And you will be redeemed. Ask Him to know you so you can know Him; And He will be your Advocate.
Romans 10:9-13
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, leading to righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, leading to salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes upon Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him, 13 for “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
John 3:16
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
